3 suspected Abu Sayyaf members arrested in Palawan
Three suspected Abu Sayyaf group members were
apprehended by the authorities in Palawan Thursday according to a report made
by the military on Saturday.
The three men were identified as Alnaser
Sawadjaan, Jardin Hajuli, and Alig Pandah - all of them hail from Sulu. They
were nabbed by marines and police personnel patrolling Sitio Bagong Buhay in
Barangay Sumbeling in the town of Bataraza at about 12:42 p.m.
The report revealed that during the
police interrogation the trio confessed that Muammar Akali,
the group's leader, is in the capital Puerto for a kidnap mission in time
for the Baragatan Festival.
It was also revealed that Sawadjaan is the son of
former Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Jul Asman Sawadjaan who was responsible for the
kidnapping of Baker Attani, a Jordanian journalist three years ago in Sulu.
