Palawan to have three more lighthouses this year
Palawan is one of the largest and
longest island of the Philippines. But in terms of a province
jurisdiction, Palawan sits on top of other provinces. With its elongated shape that stretches from Mindoro in
the northeast to Borneo in the
southwest, the seas surrounding the island is one of the country's busiest.
That said, having lighthouses is certainly a very big help to aid navigation of boats and vessels in the area and to ensure a safe travel.

According to Commodore George Ursabia,
district commander of Philippine Coast Guard in Palawan, there are three more
lighthouses that are being constructed in Palawan.
The three under construction lighthouses will be an addition and will increase safety to the existing 35 lighthouses in the area.
“The construction is expected to be done within the year,” Commodore Ursabia said.
