Huge Fire in Puerto Princesa leave almost 300 families without homes

A huge fire that broke out on Roxas Street in the capital Puerto Princesa on Monday, destroyed around 280 houses and left almost 300 families without a home.

In a report from GMA News, huge flames scattered rapidly as the houses were very close to each other.

The firefighters also had a hard time responding because of the narrow pathways.

Residents helped extinguish the fire using buckets of water.

Families and affected residents who lost their homes from the fire used the barangay hall, basketball court, and health care center as evacuation centers. 

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
