Tropical Storm Vinta Kills 32

The number of people who lost their lives due to severe tropical storm Vinta that made its second landfall on December 23 in Mangsee Island in Balabac, Palawan increases to 32.

Mangsee Island before the storm: 

According to the data released by Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis Team on Friday, 13 of 32 who have died have already been identified.

Apart from 23 boats that are nowhere to be found, 50 local residents who are mostly fishermen are still missing. At least 1,500 houses were damaged by the storm.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, social workers have been assigned to conduct stress debriefing and counseling to affected residents.

Meanwhile, relief goods have been delivered to affected residents in Balabac. Search and rescue operations as well spreading help thru the Operation Tabang Casimanua are still on going.
